Postcard Campaign

Governor O’Malley called a special legislative session to deal with the states structural deficit. As a result of that legislative session, the Governor has been advised to cut $500 million from the budget.  So far senior programs have not been subjected to additional cuts, but they could be.

USM NEEDS YOUR HELP. We want the Legislature and the Governor  to continue to receive hundreds of post cards. We don’t want seniors to be left behind and left out. Time is of the essence. We need to continue advocate for seniors right through the coming legislative session.

Purpose

The post cards are to keep seniors on the radar of our Governor's and legislator's budget decisions.

Strategy

Continue to DELIVER the postcards to our Governor and legislators.

Three easy steps

1.      Get your postcards -   from  NARFE, Maryland Federation,  the Alliance for  Retired Americans, or from Clare Whitbeck (301-475-8014)

2..      Have friends, family and colleagues sign and fill out cards.

        a.      One to Governor O’Malley

        b.      One to their State Senator

        c.       One, two or three to their State Delegate(s)

        d.  Watch them fill out the cards and get them back.

3.     Put them in an envelope and  them to Clare Whitbeck, 40502 Port Place, Leonardtown, MD 20650.  We will hand deliver the cards.
